Bruce A. Pasternack was a true mensch. An inspirational global thought leader, business author, strategist, change-maker, loving husband, father, grandfather, mentor and a very kind and gentle man. Bruce lived his life in service of others until younger-onset Alzheimer’s disease intervened and interrupted his journey. He left us in January 2021 but we seek to extend his legacy by asking ourselves every day - #WhatWouldBruceDo ?

What will you do?

Dream it.

We imagine a world where neurodegenerative diseases no longer exist. In partnership with Dr. Michael Greicius, the BAP Family Fund seeks to fund research into the causation, identification, interception and elimination of progressive brain disorders including but not limited to Alzheimer's, Lewy Body, Huntington’s, Parkinson’s, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Friedreich's ataxia, and Spinal muscular atrophy.

Build it.

It all begins with an idea, fueled by optimism, and supported by those who believe in the opportunities presented through collaboration. Join us as we build a center for research featuring an annual symposium, ongoing project-based programming and subject-matter specific speakers and articles to increase visibility around younger-onset neurodegenerative diseases.

Grow it.

In the Jewish tradition, we will gather to celebrate Bruce’s legacy on the one year anniversary of his passing - January 2022. To honor his legacy, in addition to the laying of his headstone, we will also host a symposium in partnership with Stanford Medicine, Dr.Greicius and thought leaders on neurodegenerative disease. Through lectures, interactive learning sessions, workshops, and social events, hope will be planted and a path forward will be identified.

Replicate it.

With success comes replication. It is our fervent hope that this is the beginning of a journey that will continue to grow and fertilize future ideas and convenings. We believe in collaboration and that all learnings that support the journey towards elimination are meant to be shared with others. Curious about our work? Strategy? FIndings? Please reach out so we can share and help you to replicate.

Memorialize it.

Share our learnings - write, speak, present; one-on-one or to an audience of thousands; in a TedTalk or to a surviving loved one looking to make a legacy gift. Tell the stories, capture them, and tell the stories of those who can no longer speak for themselves. We owe it to them to ensure that their journey paves a path towards the best possible outcome under the present-day circumstances.

Eliminate it.

Our ultimate goal is to put ourselves out of business. Bruce believed strongly in learning from his mistakes. He loved history and had a tremendous capacity to draw from past experiences, best and worst practices, successes and failures and his keen observations as a management consultant to advise just about anyone on anything. He also knew when his role was complete and would gracefully step away.

Together - let’s strive to eliminate the need for this forum.
